Judging criteria

Judging criteria

What do you need to accomplish this weekend? What does your pitch need to contain? Where should you focus? Probably on this, because it's what the judges will use to score you...

The criteria

You are judged only on the work you do throughout the weekend, focusing on these three areas:

You'll cover all this in a pitch to judges.

While the pitch is not itself the judging criteria, it is the only means you have at your disposal to communicate the work you've done to the judges, so it matters!

You do NOT want to spend the weekend worrying about the pitch. You want to spend the weekend getting the judging criteria nailed.

Some things to consider for the pitch:

  • Did you tell a coherent & cogent story?
  • Did you address the other judging criteria?
  • Do you have a clear high-level concept?
  • Are your slide visuals clear?

You are NOT judged on whether...

  • you give a good pitch performance
  • you have a pretty slide deck
  • did relevant things before the weekend
  • this might succeed (or fail) after the weekend
  • you have a good idea
